PADI to achieve its objective “Education for creation of just a humane society” carried out its programs through two main projects namely, Quality Education In Government Primary Schools (QE-GPS), CHILD LINE Mangalore.
Recognizing PADI’s work in Education and Child Rights Public Affairs Center Bangalore approached with Training for 8 schools SDMC in D.K District on Social accountability and Capacity building.
A CSR based support from “SYNGENE” for conducting need assessment study in the neighborhood Government schools of Bajpe area of D.K district, similarly Pratham and ASER sought our collaboration in conducting ASER health and Education status survey in D.K and Udupi. Photo ASER
Detailed report of the project is as below :
Quality Education In Government Primary Schools is a 3 years Project (2017-2020). To achieve the project objective which had two main indicators focusing on creating child friendly atmosphere in School and Panchayath and promoting Quality Education and the implementation of D.Ed Curriculum in D.El.Ed Institutions The sub objectives focused on strengthening the Federation and its 8 Education Resource Centres and on strengthening the SDMC in 4 divisions on RTE compliance. PADI through this project focused on 52 schools and 15 Panchayaths, 7 D.Ed Colleges of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. The activities include Consultation for Developing Training modules for SDMC and Panchayath Representative, Theatre Workshop for Children Cultural Group, Interface Programme with Line Department, State level SDMC consultation on RTE compliance in Karnataka, Induction training, Reviews. With regard to D.Ed One of the added advantage was inclusion of Early Childhood Education in D.Ed curriculum and Private D.Ed colleges incorporating Induction training module for fresher.
To strengthen the Education Resource Centers’ Federation, professional training on administration and finance management is been given and the follow up of the performances were taken.
Time to time Skill Development trainings conducted to the staff as on need based form, such as Developing Organization profile, Monitoring tool preparation and gauging, financial sustainability, Panchayath raj Act, Structural Analysis, Documentation and Communication skill etc.
CHILDLINE.1098 helpline was successful to reach out to the children in distress in D.K. Many more child related issues were identified, followed up through the calls/helpline and CHILDLINE along with concern rescue team and with the system were able to reach out to the children by rescuing them to safe place. Apart from calls, CHILD LINE team reached out to children through school awareness programmes, Community awareness through street plays. CHILDLINE se Dhosti week organised during November was a great success which helped to reach out to various stakeholders also a platform was created during one of the day during this week to have face to face interaction with general Public and Departments working with children.
Support a Child: Through this program PADI reached to children with financial constraints which caused hurdle to achieve their right to food, health and education die to various reasons.
