HEAVY RAIN LASHES HAVE CAUSED DISRUPTED NORMAL LIFE  SUBSEQUENTLY AND CONSEQUENTLY, CHILDREN’S EDUCATION IS STANDSTILL

 

PADI, Mangalore working for Quality Education in Government Primary Schools in 6 districts of Mysore, Bangalore, Belgaum, Gulbarga, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada.  Under this project, our interventions are with 61 Government schools and 24 Local Authorities. Grama Panchayaths and Town/Municipals.

One of our Working Areas is Sampaje, here we have taken up 6 Government schools in 6 Places of Sampaje Grama Panchayath.  During this Rainy Season, the Village is completely in breakdown condition.  People’s lives are very pathetic.  The places, Kallugundi, Ubaradka, Koinadu, Goonadka, Chowki Sampaje, Urubailu Dbadka of Sampaje village 35 houses are shattered due to the effect of heavy rain and flood and 35 families, among them, 40 women, 32 men, and 11 Girls and 9 Boys are in distress and are under the alternative system of Gram Panchayat. The children’s education system is completely at a standstill.

To deal with the current situation, arrangements have been made at Sajjana Pratishthan Hall in Goonadka, Government Higher Primary School at Urubailu, and Mahaganapati Temple in Koinad. Here only their daily food, medicine, etc. are being given. More than 100 people have taken shelter of their family members and friends.

While most have lost their homes, some have had their daily belongings washed away. Some people’s houses are cracked and in need of repair.
